According to the Ocean Conservancy’s Trash Free Seas initiative, “Every year, 8 million metric tons of plastics enter our ocean on top of the estimated 150 million metric tons that currently circulate our marine environments.”
That’s like dumping one New York City garbage truck full of plastic into the ocean every minute of every day for an entire year!
Yet, like the old story of the frog in boiling water, we sit by in our comfortable lives, looking the other way and let big corporations profit from poisoning the world we live in. All while the temperature rises too slowly for us to feel the water is starting to boil...
For years we have turned a deaf ear to Mother Nature’s cries for help. We justify not helping with lame excuses, saying things like, “I’m just one person, what could I do? How can I make a difference?”
Something as easy as placing a seed into the dirt has grown into a new, habitat full of animal life and planet reviving trees. So, if you’ve ever thought that you can’t make a difference, this shows that you are more powerful than you know. You can make a difference!
